Navigating NascarReference

On both desktop and mobile devices, clicking the Back button will return you to the previously viewed page, while clicking on the NascarReference logo in the menubar will return you to the Home page. Additionally, on desktop computers and mobile devices with an attached keyboard, you can return to the Home page by pressing the Escape key .

In addition to standard HTML menus, NascarReference uses two types of hyperlinks. The most common are links within lists, such as race results links which are found in the Schedules and Historic Schedules menus. There are also stand-alone links, which appear in light blue and turn green on hover, just as do list links. For visual consistency, list links are styled to match the page's color scheme. Footnotes and context messages always display in black.

Certain messages may appear in red for emphasis. In Schedules menus, pole driver's names are displayed in red to indicate qualifying was canceled and the starting position was awarded based on NASCAR's rules. Errors are also shown in red. Additionally, any easily overlooked option may be highlighted in red to draw attention. Oftentimes text length is shortened so text will fit in a field. Shortened text will end with an ellipse (...).

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ's

* Frequently Asked *
Q. I noticed my favorite driver started on the pole, but it didn't increase his pole statistics on this website.

A. When qualifying is cancelled, NASCAR uses various methods to determine who will start the race from the pole position. Even though the driver will start P1, the driver did not qualify for that pole start stat. Drivers must actually qualify number one to be awarded the pole statistic.

Q. Why is there so much older data missing?

A. When NASCAR first started, their record keeping was not accurately recorded and saved as is done today. For one reason or another, much race data was either lost or never recorded. I am constantly searching for those missing results and adding them as they are found.

About NascarReference

Born on Date: August 22, 2009

In 2009, I was just another long time NASCAR fan - frustrated with the clunky websites avaiable at the time. Their cluttered layouts, and rolling ads that hijacked the screen every few seconds. Trying to read stats while the page jumped around was like racing on bald tires and I had enough.

So It was then I decided to build the website I always wished existed — simple, clean, and dedicated to nothing but NASCAR stats. No ads and no registration requiring you to provide any personal information.

There was just one problem: I had zero programming experience.

I didn't know PHP, javascript, didn't understand how databases worked, and hadn't written a single line of HTML. But what I did have was persistence, a love for racing stats, and a clear goal: to create a NASCAR website that was fast, clean, and without the rolling ads that had always driven me crazy.

I started small - figuring out how to display race results, sort data, and build basic filters. Each new feature was a lesson. Every bug was a challenge. Some nights were long. Most progress came one internet search after another and some help from my younger brother Michael. Over the years, I taught myself enough PHP, SQL, and front-end code to get by - and slowly but surely, NascarReference took shape.

Today, it's a site I'm proud to call mine. It's simple by design - no popups, no auto-play ads, no distractions. Just stats, clean layouts, and tools that fans can actually use. It's grown to include year-by-year data, current and historic schedules and race results, manufacturer standings, crew chief statistics, series filters, and more - all driven by user needs and real feedback.

NascarReference is still going strong - and still built with the same focus it had from day one: just give the users what they came for.

Thanks for stopping by and for being part of this journey. NascarReference exists because of fans like you, who love NASCAR as much as I do. Please feel free to send me your comments, suggestions, complaints etc. Just use the Contact Form in the File Menu. I try to respond to each email in a timely manner.
